...and into the woods she goes. Apparently looking for the
blanket she had laid out earlier for herself and a special "guest".
...Let's do hope she gets there before the bread turns rock hard.
It feels so good to be back designing fabric, and I hope you will join me on this venture!

...created this sketch today, and now I have the painstaking process of turning this into
a repeated design for fabric. (that's what happens when you don't plan things out ahead of time....something that would obviously save time, yet something I never think about until it's too late.)
..I wonder where this lady is going with that loaf of bread? who is she looking for? hmmm?

I was contacted by Happy Find months ago about this beautiful vest that had been made using my fabric. I immediately had to share it, and as life goes, things got in the way a bit and here we are much later than I would have liked.
Thank you Happy Find for making something so absolutely adorable out of this fabric. ( I think that baby could make anything look good, don't you?)

..another quick sketch for an upcoming textile piece. This idea came about after a recent
observation on a typical playdate. All three boys (my two, plus a friend) were playing an imaginary game of treasure discovery. As I sat in the kitchen enjoying a quick cup of coffee, I started to hear the cries of a frustrated little soul. While the other two were able to completely immerse themselves in an imaginary world of fighting villains, he began to struggle. He could not see what they were looking at, and could not understand why they kept pointing to "precious gold jewels" that didn't actually exist. As I listened to his pleas for them to show him what they were looking at, my heart couldn't help but ache when I realized just how hard it was for him to play along.
...Thankfully they asked him to build some shields....something concrete that he could touch and see. His excitement returned as he poured all of his energy into making them perfect. Imagination took over, and before you know it he managed to build something that excited the other boys tremendously.
...His imagination is incredible. It just shows in a different way.

while I anxiously await for my computer to get set-up, I thought I'd share a quick sketch for an
upcoming textile piece.
..textile, you say? It seems like an eternity since needle and thread have been put to use, and I am quite excited to dive into the world of fiber again. It will be interesting to see how this little
paranoia of public playgrounds turns out...

Here's a little sketch of roots to enjoy as I try to get this new computer sorted. This transition could have easily gone much smoother had I saved all of the installation disks for my scanner, printer, etc. That's where chaotic organization gets you.....always in control until you actually need something. (probably a good push to get the baskets of tossed bills and randomly placed documents into their own organized files.)

o.k....so have all my pictures really been as bad as I have recently discovered?
After getting a new computer for Christmas (which was needed after using this laptop for over ten years), I completely panicked when I saw all of my posted photos on the new monitor. A rush of panic coursed through my veins, as I slowly went from photo to photo. And the added dread of what all of those viewers out there had been seeing caused even more panic than I thought possible.
I finally put to rest the crazy idea to go in and re-edit everything, and instead thought it best just to start from here on.....
anyone have good experience with color calibration for the computer? Any input would be very helpful to this somewhat-still-panicked soul over here....
