I need some wellies....

...I have come to terms with the fact that my studio will never look like those lovely
ones featured in design literature. I am a "wannabe" cool studio owner, but the fact of the matter is that I am messy. I may start off with perfectly organized storage bins, but give me a week of hard work, and those bins soon become a mixed blend of everything that was once so neatly separated. Yes, I probably spend way too much time looking for tools that have been put down in a spot "I won't forget", but in the end I work much better that way. Everything gets emptied out, which in turn allows for more free-flowing thoughts as I work.

...And if that's not enough, I am blessed with a lovely room that floods every time the rain comes down. (which has been a lot lately....)

..how's that for an inspiring space?

Well, in your case, dear, I guess it's not about how the studio looks, but what comes out of the studio!!!

But who doesn't dream about one of those picture-perfect creative spaces? Mine sure doesn't look anything near perfect either, though... I'm in desperate need of storage room... and a team of gnomes who come in at night to clean up after me!
:)

{hearts}
& have a wonderful day!

Oh no, floods!!! Well, at least they make a ton of cute wellies these days right?

Besides as much as I love to oogle cute studios, they always seem a little too perfect. Almost a bit intimidating to work in, like you might mess something up.

Hope the rain lets up for you :)

you make a lot of magic happen in that room friend...but the water on the floor is not good. ahhh the joys of home ownership : ) looks like things are coming along!!!

ah those floors....and yes. They do indeed make some really cute wellies, which is probably better than my method now. (I wear my sneakers inside my husband's larger sneakers he uses to mop up said floor. a pretty sight...)

as long as I have pandora playing in my computer (which is of course situated well above the floor), I can usually block this little distraction out.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one with a messy studio! Aside from the flooding though, yours looks pretty good actually. If you find it easier to work in a little messiness, then I'd stay that way! :)

Well it's hardly your fault about the water! But I am deeply encouraged by your confessions of mess. I aspire to those gorgeous and neat workspaces but I will never never get there. My craft (nothing at all in the league of your wonderful art) happens in the margins when the kids are sleeping or busy and there is food in the cupboard and washing on the line. Who has the time to tidy when just getting something done takes so much effort! Thanks for your blog. It's always inspiring. And at least you're not a wannabe artist. You're the real deal, mess and all.

I only wish... but my little studio makes me happy and since the last time I arranged it... (I took literally everything out and organized it... oh it was painful)...I think I`ve been good with it... I loved this post... :)
