....it may not be the most important debate as of late, nonetheless it has sparked some fun back and forth thoughts at my flickr page...(thank you for all of your wonderful insight)

...to hat or not to hat?

... a "simple" question that was causing me to pull out my hair due to an inability to ever make up my mind. It's amazing how this little piece of brown felt has managed to cause such a stir... (and to make it even more complicated, my boys were split down the middle......)
...I have a feeling this debate may be lasting forever, as I have already managed to change my mind thrice since writing this post!

i can see your dilemma....hmmm. i wish i could help you (as i'm all to familiar with what you're feeling) but i am totally torn as well. it may be that you need to create a second (very similar) piece and create one each way.....good luck friend!

Make one of each! Love the fox either way....Thanks for reminding me that I am not the only one who sometimes cannot make a decision. Love your work and admire that you can be a MOM and an Artist simultaneously. Well done!

Hi, been following your blog for a little while- I liked your stuff on Flickr! I love the fox, he looks suitably sly and charming, but for what it's worth, I'd say no hat. I'm not sure why, but I think it's because I'd prefer to see his ears! Hop you don't mind someone else adding their tuppence worth, good luck!
No hat. He doesn't seem like a hat kind of fox. :)
i am fox crazy about them both! but i think i prefer without hat.
(i really loooove what you do!).
thank you for all of your wonderful insight!!!!
and Susan...I can honestly say that it wasn't until my youngest was three was I able to pick up the creative work again! Now that the youngest goes to pre-school for a few hours, I have some "me" time that can be oh so needed at times!
I could see why you hesitate but I say "no hat".
Even though I like the beret, to me it works better visually when there is more of the orange color showing. Just my opinion :)
I like the hat but I think the detail on the fox's face is too nice to cover up with a hat. I say no hat on this one! :)
I am all for the hat - makes him look like a real French runaway/travelling fox. I love how such small decisions can change a work so much - I am often faced with such dilemmas.
I have just stumbled upon your blog and I LOVE it. Thank you for sharing your beautiful designs.
